Dip Pen Exercises
Fun to play with but not as convenient as a fine line pen. More expressive lines. Don't know if I would try it in a coffee shop etc, probably spill the ink bottle.

New toy
I have admired some very expressive drawings done with a dip pen and nib so, while there is some muss and fuss, I am giving it a try.

Queensborough Landing
Bev shops and I sit at the coffee shop and draw. Pretty great to be comfortable sitting outside drawing on Dec 19 in Canada, hope it lasts.

Canada Geese, Port Moody BC
Canada geese are everywhere here and one afternoon I sat in the park in Port Moody and drew them. I did this from one of the drawings, trying out a "stippling" type of drawing I saw in a drawing book.

St. Pauls from the MIllenium Bridge, London
I saw this in May on our trip to the UK. Drew it from a photo, so not strictly according to the Urban Sketch rules of actually drawing on site. Couldn't resist doing the drawing.

Cars in the Mtn Equip Co-op parking garage.
Made this drawing of Vancouver, BC Place Stadium and the revolving restaurant on top of the SFU tower from the parking garage, looking north to the city and the mountains.

Draw something every day, it will do you a world of good.
Blind contour drawing, don't look at the paper as you draw. Hard not to peek.
Marker drawing. Makes you concentrate on the main shapes and not get lost in the details. Nice dark black lines.
Saw this recently.

He who does not ask is a fool forever.

False Creek, vancouver
Looking across False Creek to the condos in Yaletown, Vancouver. Following my usual policy of rushing out the door, jumping on my horse and riding off in all directions, I am drawing with a marker (today).

Langley Townhouses
Langley BC has gone from rural to pretty urban in recent years. Sat in a coffee shop and drew these townhouses with my neat new pen, a Sakura SumoGrip II gel 05, waterproof ink etc. Maybe I draw just so I can cruise the art supply stores.
